There is a proverb that fits sideways. Hiljaa hyvä tulee is really about taking your time - hiljaa is slowly there, not quietly - but it reads both ways, and six out of six earns you the pun.
What you have got is the hard half - hearing that the short answers are carrying information rather than withholding it. The rest is tone, and tone only comes from hours in the room.
